Richard offers over 20 years experience in Internet and Security services. Formerly a network and security engineer for several ISPs, he moved to business roles at LINX, part of the UK Critical National Infrastructure, with the last three years as the manager of all sales and marketing activity.

He has been independent since 2010 working in a number of positions including as a non-executive director, VP of Business Development, and interim Secretary General of Euro-IX.
From 2018 to 2020 he worked in the business team at 1Password before moving back to full time consultancy.

Code of conduct

As a Member of The Institute of Engineering and Technology and Member of The Chartered Management Institute conduct is governed by their rules and codes of conduct and guided by the Ethical Statement of The Engineering Council which is built on the principles of:

1. Honesty and integrity - Engineering professionals have a duty to uphold the highest standards of professional conduct including openness, fairness, honesty and integrity.
2. Respect for life, law, the environment and public good - Engineering professionals have a duty to obey all applicable laws and regulations and give due weight to facts, published standards and guidance and the wider public interest.
3. Accuracy and rigour - Engineering professionals have a duty to acquire and use wisely the understanding, knowledge and skills needed to perform their role.
4. Leadership and communication - Engineering professionals have a duty to abide by and promote high standards of leadership and communication.

Completely independent

All work is conducted solely for the client. No commissions, affiliate scheme participation or other inducement is accepted from vendors. From time to time vendors may sponsor projects other than consultancy such as the changeme123.com blog, but this does not affect the advice given to customers of the consultancy.

Services are offered based on zero knowledge of your secure data in the same way as your password manager. This data is neither known or sought during any engagement.

Location, Legal and Insurance

Consultancy is provided from Peterborough, England and carried out under the laws of England. Specific contracts may specify alternative jurisdiction and/or applicable law.
All consultancy is covered by both professional indemnity and cyber insurance policies which are maintained at an appropriate level.
